In the face of death, the Church confidently proclaims that God has created each person for eternal life and that Jesus, by His death and resurrection, has destroyed death forever. Christians celebrate the funeral rites to offer worship, praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of a life which had now been returned to God, the Author of Life.
Sacred Heart offers the grieving family the opportunity to celebrate Christian Burial according to the Rite of the Catholic Church. At the time of death, please contact the parish office to schedule a time to meet with Fr. Mike to schedule a date for the funeral service and to select readings and music for the Liturgy.
According to Diocesan guidelines, funeral Masses can be held on any day of the year except a Sunday, Holy Day, or during the Sacred Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday).
If the family wishes, Sacred Heart will provide a gathering space and/or reception for family & guests immediately following the church or cemetery service.
