St. Francis of Assisi (September 26, 1182 – October 3, 1226) is the Patron Saint of animals & ecology. The Feast Day of St. Francis is October 4. In celebration of this annual Feast Day, we host an annual "Blessing of the Animals" on on the parish grounds at Sacred Heart.
All are welcome & invited to participate in the service!
In order to ensure safety & harmony, all pets must be on a leash, or harness or be confined in a pet crate or carrier.
The month of May is named for & dedicated to Mary, the devoted Mother of the Son of God. Crowning a statue of the Lord's Mother is symbolic of the honor we give her as the one chosen by God to bear His Son. Mary is Queen of Heaven & Earth because she was the perfect follower of Christ.
Hail Mary, full of Grace.
In November we pray especially for those who have died & we keep a book at the entrance of the church for these special prayer requests.
If you have loved ones interred at Canton Cemetery, you may request that their graves be visited during the “Blessing of the Graves” prayer service, led by Father Mike.
