The Diocese of Jackson is committed to ensuring that children served by the Church are not at risk. Diocesan policies & procedures currently in place seek to protect, enhance & in some cases, restore, the trust that our Faith calls for between agents of the Church & the children & adolescents entrusted to our care.
The Diocese of Jackson uses "Called to Protect" by Praesidium, Inc. to train clergy, religious, lay employees & volunteers about safe environments. The "Called to Protect" series has 4 parts, including the first-ever program specifically for Catholic middle & high school age youths & an innovative new program for elementary age children based on the latest child development research.
Praesidium experts carefully developed the content & conducted extensive nationwide field testing to ensure that each part is informative, well-received & effective.
In accordancewith the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People passed by the U.S. Bishops in Dallas, the Diocese of Jackson wishes to encourage any victim of abuse to come forward so that the healing process can begin in accord with our present Diocesan policy.
